At this point i am wondering if it truly is due to covid or if saying it's due to covid is just a convenient excuse for the studios so that they don't have to come out and say they fucked up and are stuck with production issues. I mean we're up to 4 postponed animes this season alone so far...i mean we're getting more postponed anime now then when covid hit it's strides and people were still trying to get their shots...it just seems odd imo.

Well then i say less outsourcing but i guess the cheap labor for the studio's is far to attractive. But regardless i still don't buy that excuse cause all that doesn't explain why some shows are delayed by 2 almost 3 months while others are delayed indefinitely. Let alone the sheer amount of shows already getting delayed this season+past season. And it's not like covid is a recent thing either so maybe the studio's should've at this point thought about their apparent over-reliance of outsourcing their work to china.

I get you. But I guess it all comes down to money in the end. Anime Production in Japan is pretty tight to begin with. With people being overworked and underpaid af. The same thing goes for china and if covid hits an already exhausted person...well. My guess is that they already were really tight on time and now that happened, they have to backpedal hard.

I mean well of course it's tight no sane person wants to work in that field since the studios are far to greedy. I mean this shit has been going on for decades now at this point and did anything change? No i would argue it has only gotten worse. But that situation is entirely selfmade by the studio's. If they would pay decent wages people would actually consider it as a career choice again.
